As the Facebook is calling it, currently we are humoring the snowfall by calling it Snowmageddon. Though seriously, the snow started last night and it seems to have no intention of stopping. My car is pretty much buried, which is kind of cool, and when I went outside to explore the new snow covered earth I sank to my knee. That was just cold. Snow is good for several things.
Hot cocoa, cuddling, snowmen, snow angels, snow ball fights, laughter, baby making (another joke that is going around Facebook), and for making everything close down.
That last one is necessarily good, but occasionally it can be fun. Of course with road conditions and the cars being (ahem) buried there is no way for me or my coworkers to get to work. Patrons and employee safety first! So, the library is closed today and tomorrow. Snow day for me! Yay! Now, I did do some work relating to promoting the eBook collection and getting the word out for that, but mostly I’ve been able to relax at home, work on writing, think about the meaning of life, etc.
I don’t have Xander today, bummer. I would have liked to have been able to take him out for a little while to play in the snow. I know his father did, and I hope he took some pictures, but I’m supposed to get little man back tomorrow night. Now, I will always put my son’s safety first. If that means I have to delay my time with him due to dangerous road conditions then so be it. I’d rather have to wait to share time with him then his father wreck on the way to meet me, or me to wreck on the way home. Sometimes parenting decisions can be hard.
I’ll use my free time to do some reading I’ve been meaning to catch up on, and I really want to open my paints. Organizing and purging some parts of my house has also been on my to-do list. So snow is good for motivating me to clean as well. If I am stuck in the house I may as well do something!
