I have lived more lives than Methuselah lived years. I have lived more years than the earth has existed. You may ask, how is that possible? It’s very simple. I read. I really get into my books. When I read it is like I’m transported into the novel. I become the characters, feeling what they feel, experiencing what they do. Everything around me fades into the background. The other night Ariana was trying to talk to me while I was reading and I didn’t realize she was sitting there staring at me until I heard a loud noise and looked around. It is rather funny.
I didn’t always love to read, but once I found that passion I never stopped. I know that sounds cliché since I’m a librarian, but that’s not why I went into that profession. I read because while I’m not able to physically travel to 1964 London, 3086 New York, or the Shire I can still go there is my books. I love to read because I can go anywhere in the world and I can learn anything. Not to mention I also love a great story with complex characters.
I get a great joy from reading. It’s fun, relaxing, and free entertainment (if you get your books from the library). If you would like to keep up with what I’m reading or if you are looking for a recommendation you can visit my “Book Shelf” here.
There is not a lot of time to read with working full-time and coming home to be wife and mommy. I read on my lunch break when I don’t have other errand to run, and sometimes after dinner the kids will settle down to watch cartoons so I can read for a little while then as well. I’ll always do my best to find time to read, even if it is just for a few minutes. Reading is great for your mind, and it sets a fantastic example for your kids. If they see you read, they will read too. There’s no telling how many lives they will live.
Totally agree. Reading is such an easy escape, and you can learn so much about different time periods you never experienced.
