Some days are absolutely crazy; sometimes good crazy and sometimes bad crazy. There are also some crazy days that can go either way. For me, Sundays are usually a pretty good day in general. I love my church, it’s just amazing. We have such great fellowship, worship, and sermons, and it just rejuvenates me after a sometimes long and tiring week.
Today’s events were hilarious. To start my day off my son cut a lock of my hair off. Yeah, seriously. I have a razor with a guard around the blade. There is ZERO chance getting cut with it unless you stick your finger under the plastic and wiggle it around. I keep a close eye on him with it, and he pretends to shave his legs (like mommy lol). Well today he decided I needed to take a little off the top. Before I could stop him he put the razor in my hair and pulled…out came a good size lock of hair. We were in the shower…eh. Thankfully you can’t tell, and I’m not angry because it really was hilarious and he didn’t know.
After that the next hilarious event to occur happened in between services at church. I’ve made some new friends at church recently. They’re really cool people and I’d like to get to know them better. Fellowship you know? So I asked my friend if he wanted to get some coffee. I thought I had implied as friends, but I guess that didn’t translate. He said yeah, but when we were talking later he clarified that he was interested in another girl…I was confused until it clicked. I felt like a total ass. It was mortifying and hilarious. We talked it out, and clarified on both sides.
Also between services my son decided he no longer wanted to wear his pants…or his pull-up. He didn’t want to take his shoes off though, so instead his pants and pull-up are around his ankles. What does he do then? Puts his hands in the air and yells “yay!” in all his naked baby boy glory. #momfail?
After church I went to BK to get a drink. Ari and I had been talking about frappes and I really wanted one. She had told me there was a cute guy who had been flirting with her and complimenting her hair (we both currently have streaks of bright color in our hair). She’s kind of shy about that stuff so I like to pick on her occasionally, in a sisterly way. Well, I didn’t realize she meant the one by our church. I thought she meant the one out by our house in the next town over. So I pull up in the window and who do I see? The guy she described to me…to a T. And you know what just proved it was him? He complimented the color in my hair…yeah.
The final hilarious thing to happen today actually occurred just a couple of hours ago. Ari and I were watching a show that she has downloaded on her external hard drive. It can get really suspenseful at parts so we were leaned in pretty close to my laptop when suddenly we hear a loud knock on my windowed. We screamed so loud and flailed around on my bed. I’m pretty sure we managed to punch each other. Then we hear Ari’s mom laughing outside. She had come to pick her up on her way home and couldn’t resist the temptation. In the meantime Ari and I were trying not to have a massive heart attack.
Some days all you can do is laugh, breathe, and pray to God for patience.
